Ramadan marks a month of fasting before Hari Raya Aidilfitri, but it's also an exciting month of festive food bazaars and special buffets set up for the grand and hunger-busting occasion of breaking fast. Across Malaysia, there is an annual gathering of food stalls that offers a variety of local scrumptious and mouth-watering delicacies.
Our sauce is one that was created from my memories and experiences at the festivals. My favourite stand would be the grilled food stands. Three favourites included ikan bakar (grilled fish), ayam bakar (flame-grilled chicken) and sotong bakar (barbecued squid).
