Did you know that rendang is not considered a curry in Malaysia and the rest of South-East Asia? The flavour of this dish is so complex that it has its own category in our cuisine. Growing up, my family will have rendang once a month and only when our parents received their salary enough to buy fresh beef from the butchers.
